What a sublime stay at Cragmhor…
The house is a real country home, situated in a truly breathtaking location.
Balquhidder is a quiet and friendly village, with mountains to clamber up and walks all around.. the loch is just a short walk from the house, a stunning place to relax or swim, and right in the heart of the valley!!!
The room affords a very comfortable sleep, is clean and well furnished, the neighbours horses you can see from the window…
The place to dine is Mhor 84; hearty grub and a fireside, breakfast, lunch or dinner.. it's 'Mhor in Store' next door is definitely a place to visit too, a shop filled with local art and fineries, beautiful gifts and unique finds..!
If you love nature and want to restore, this is the perfect place… it is a truly magical and inspiring place.
Shammi was such great host, easy going, friendly and super informative.
He also shared some incredible stories about the powerful paintings all over the house… just amazing. Thank you!!!

I had a brilliant stay at Shammi's place. The house and location are both fantastic. Shammi is really welcoming, friendly and laid back, and knows lots about the local area if you need it. You can hang out and chat it the communal areas of kitchen, dining room and living room with its lovely wood burning stove, or you can keep yourself to yourself in your own private room and bathroom. The whole ground floor - including bathroom - is accessible, too, which is great. Fantastic.

I spent a very peaceful night in this gorgeous home, the artwork throughout the whole house is amazing and the location is lovely - so quiet, and stunning views from the terrace at the back of the house where I had my breakfast! Shammi was a very responsive and friendly host with lots of suggestions about the local area. Everything was very clean and the bed was super comfy. I would definitely recommend staying here and I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

The room is warm and comfortable, with a good-sized bed and a brand-new private bathroom. The location is wonderfully peaceful, with beautiful mountain views – especially from the kitchen, where the host warmly welcomes guests to do some light cooking or help themselves to tea or coffee. We had an absolutely wonderful couple of days here. Shammi was incredibly helpful and responsive - he was there to show us around, and gave us some helpful local tips. We were only four, but the property could have taken more. The house was lovely and very unique, with amazing art throughout and a beautifully peaceful garden with stunning views of the surrounding hills. The area itself was quiet and restorative. I would highly recommend anyone considering visiting the area to stay here.

The house is super cosy, comfortable and feels like a real home lived in and not as a self-catering, the location is five minutes walk from the lake and ten minutes to Balquhidder church and perfect for hiking, cycling, swimming and long nature walks. It’s very close to Loch Lomond. The host came personally to hand over the keys and showed us around the house. We had everything we needed, loved the artwork, the views from the kitchen and the fireplace, it added so much joy to our stay. Highly recommended 😊

We stayed in this area before but the place we know was booked and we decided to try something else! That’s how we ended up at Shammi’s place and it has really exceeded our expectations. From the photos, we thought we will only have access to 1 bedroom but the upstairs is much more spacious, there are two beds and a hang out space with a cosy couch. Its very warm in the living area and there is lots of light. We travelled with our baby daughter and she had lots of space to crawl and explore. The bed was VERY large and very comfortable and there are also blackout blinds on the windows which we appreciated. Shammi allowed us to use the kitchen, which had everything we needed. We will definitely be back next time we are in Scotland!

For my 40th birthday celebrations, I had dreams of spending it together with my best friend in Scotland, in a landscape I had come to fall head over heels in love with. This would be my dear friends first visit, and we were looking for a place that was serene, for long walks, deep conversations and rejuvenating cold baths. And all I can say is that we found in Balquihidder all we could have ever dreamt of, and more.
The Celts recognised Balquhidder Glen as a “thin place”, where the boundary between Heaven and Earth was close. A sentiment that is ever-present to this day. We had such an amazing time, the glen and our home for the weekend was truly magic and I could simply not have asked for a better birthday gift than these restorative days spent in the glen.
Shammi went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, always there with recommendations on great hiking spots and places to swim. The house was immaculately clean and beds super comfy. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Shammis lovely house while spending a weekend Balquhidder, and was completely blown away by the immense beauty of this magical glen just 1,5 hours from Edinburgh.
The spacious, beautiful and cozy house is has a warm, serene atmosphere that makes you feel calm and welcome the second you enter. A large, comfortable bed with linen of Egyptian cotton and the stillness outside had me sleeping like a baby.
Shammi was a wonderful host and made sure I had everything I needed, was easy to communicate with and didn’t hesitate to lend me his advice when I needed some local recommendations (Mhor 84 has the best Scottish breakfast I ever had!).
I can’t wait to come back, thank you for an amazing experience Shammi!

Shammi’s house is beautiful and relaxing. It is a haven of peace and harmony. The guest rooms are upstairs, they are very large, comfortable, bright. The linen is perfect and immaculate. There are many small touches for guests (flowers, books, toys, small fridge, sofas, cushions). The garden and terrace overlook the meadows and then the mountain. The view is wonderful. Shammi is a very caring host. I really recommend this accommodation, which is also located in the small town of Balquhidder that I particularly like.
