Booking Terms & Conditions
By requesting and confirming a booking, the lead guest, on behalf of everyone in the party, agrees to these terms and the house rules below.
1. Booking and payment
A request sent through this website is an enquiry, not a confirmed reservation. Your booking is only confirmed once we reply to accept it and give you the total for your stay. No card details are taken on this website; payment is made separately by the payment link or bank transfer we send you.
Your dates are held once we have received the payment we ask for at the time of confirming. Until then the dates remain available to other guests.
2. Cancellations and changes
If you need to cancel, please tell us as soon as you can. Cancel with at least 3 days' notice before your check-in date and you will receive a full refund. Cancellations with less than 3 days' notice may not be refundable, as the dates are difficult to fill at short notice.
If you want to change your dates, get in touch and we will do what we reasonably can to help, subject to availability.
In the rare event that we have to cancel your booking, we will refund everything you have paid us in full.
3. House rules
- Check-in is between 3:00pm and 9:00pm. If your travel plans don't fit that window, let us know and we'll do our best to arrange something.
- Checkout is before 10:00am.
- Maximum occupancy. The whole house sleeps up to 8 guests. Please don't exceed the number of guests agreed at booking, and no parties or events.
- Quiet hours. Please keep noise down between 10:00pm and 7:00am out of respect for the household and our neighbours in the glen.
- No smoking anywhere inside the house.
- No pets. We're unable to accommodate pets.
- Please treat the house, its contents and the garden with care, and leave them as you found them.
4. Damage, loss and liability
The lead guest is responsible for the behaviour of everyone in the party and for any damage to the property or its contents caused during the stay, beyond normal wear and tear. We may ask you to cover the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.
Your own belongings are your responsibility; please look after them and lock up when you go out. We cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to your possessions, or for your vehicle and its contents, except where caused by our negligence.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
5. Our right to refuse or end a stay
We may decline a booking, or ask guests to leave without refund, where guests behave in a way that is unlawful, unsafe, or seriously inconsiderate to the household or neighbours, exceed the agreed number of guests, or breach these terms or the house rules.
6. Your information
We handle the personal information you send us in line with our Privacy Policy, set out below on this page.
7. Complaints
If something isn't right during your stay, please tell us at the time so we have the chance to put it right. If anything remains unresolved, email us at surjeetsodhi@icloud.com and we will respond promptly.
8. General
You may not sublet, assign or transfer your booking to anyone else. The lead guest must be at least 18 years old. These terms, and any dispute arising from your booking or stay, are governed by the law of Scotland.
Booking Cragmhor means you accept these terms.
Privacy Policy
Plain English. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are. Cragmhor Bed & Breakfast, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead FK19 8PB, Scotland. You can reach us at surjeetsodhi@icloud.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect, and why
When you send a booking enquiry through this site, we ask for:
- Your name and email address — so we can reply to you and confirm your stay. Without these we cannot answer you at all.
- Your phone number — optional. It only makes arrival arrangements easier.
- Your dates, room and party size — so we can check the booking is possible and quote you a total.
- Anything you type in the message box — entirely up to you. Please don't send us health information, card numbers or anything else sensitive; we don't need it and we don't want to hold it.
Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). If you write to us and never book, we rely on legitimate interests in answering correspondence.
What we don't do
- We never take card details on this website. Payment happens separately, after we confirm your dates.
- We don't sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.
- We don't send marketing emails. You will only hear from us about your enquiry.
- There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own. We use privacy-friendly analytics that count page views without cookies and without building a profile of you or storing your IP address.
The map on our contact section is hosted by Google. It only loads if you click it, and we tell you so before you do — because once it loads, Google may set cookies. If you never click it, nothing is sent to Google.
Who else sees your information
Your enquiry passes through two service providers, both acting on our instructions:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes the form submission.
- Resend delivers the enquiry to our inbox as an email.
Your enquiry email then sits in our own mailbox, hosted by Apple (iCloud). Some of these providers operate outside the UK; transfers are covered by the providers' standard contractual clauses and UK adequacy arrangements.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into a booking are deleted within 12 months. Records of actual stays are kept for six years, because HMRC requires businesses to retain accounting records for that long.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email surjeetsodhi@icloud.com and we'll respond within one month. There is nothing to pay.
If you think we've handled your information badly and we haven't put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and change the date below.
